We are passionate about solving complex engineering challenges and are committed to finding the best solutions for our clients. Our team of dynamic and approachable engineers brings positivity and momentum to every project, with expertise in revitalizing stalled schemes.
We are driven by a commitment to continuous improvement, always aiming for efficiency and quality.
Sustainability is at the core of our work. We focus on lean, innovative designs and champion the reuse of buildings and materials to reduce embodied carbon content. As proud members of the Engineers Reuse Collective, we collaborate with like-minded professionals to implement reuse in the built environment.
01
We specialise in extending and repurposing existing buildings to unlock their full potential. By retaining the existing structure and reusing materials like steelwork, we significantly reduce the embodied carbon of new construction. This approach minimises waste, preserves resources, and offers a sustainable alternative to demolition. Our expertise helps transform existing buildings into functional, efficient spaces, enabling clients to create lasting, sustainable solutions.
02
We have a deep appreciation for historic buildings, valuing their unique features and the stories they tell. Our team specialises in revitalising buildings of all eras, breathing new life into them while preserving their historic character. Clients value our careful, dedicated approach in maintaining the integrity of these structures.
03
From clifftop villas on the Kent coast to grand townhouses in West London, we have delivered exceptional residential schemes across the UK. Our clients value our collaborative approach to creating cost-efficient, sustainable structural designs that support ambitious architectural and creative visions.
We champion energy-efficient construction and have worked on numerous schemes targeting Passivhaus and EnerPhit standards. Our expertise plays a key role in helping clients realise low-energy and net-zero homes through thoughtful, performance-led engineering.
04
We bring extensive international experience across the Caribbean, Canada, Europe, and the US — regions where resilience to extreme loading is essential. This has given us a specialised capability in hurricane and seismic design, developed through projects in climates with complex structural demands. Our knowledge of regional codes, environmental conditions, and local building practices enables us to design confidently in hazard-prone areas, while maintaining a focus on performance, efficiency, and buildability.
05
We understand how and why structures perform — and where they sometimes don’t. We’re regularly appointed to investigate structural issues and advise on feasible solutions, whether addressing defects or the impact of proposed alterations. No challenge is too complex; we bring clear, practical insight to help clients make informed decisions.
George has a passion for developing simple, elegant, and cost-effective solutions to engineering problems. As a result of this he is well-revered by clients and the design team alike.
He is a highly skilled engineer with a strong international CV, having worked at leading engineering firms in London and Canada.
Career highlights include skyscrapers in Vancouver, suspended residential bridge structures in London, and seismic resilient port redevelopments in Montenegro. He has worked with and is competent in all the main building materials including mass timber, and post-tensioned concrete.
Nick has a track record of developing exceptional designs on complex and large-scale projects. He has unlocked the potential of heavily-constrained sites, allowing the reuse of existing structures and improving commercial feasibility.
He has extensive experience leading design teams on major projects including retail projects containing over 15000t of structural steelwork, 40+ storey residential towers, deep basements and delivering over 1200 residential units on single phase schemes.
Driven by a passion for social impact, he is committed to projects that contribute to sustainability and societal well-being, with a particular emphasis on adaptive reuse of buildings.
"I had the privilege of having George as lead engineer on a 180-unit mixed use scheme in West Hampstead, a project with many challenges - including a network rail main line, adjacent Victorian mansions and myriad underground obstructions necessitating complex piling and cantilevered substructure solutions.
George’s ingenuity and tenacity were key factors in overcoming the issues with practical technical solutions. He always approaches issues with a can-do attitude and was proactive in pushing the design forward and a key asset in the success of the project. I have no hesitation in recommending George and Geni if asked for a structural engineer recommendation, to architects and developers alike."
"Geni Engineering offer excellence in structural design and appraisals, with a highly collaborative approach. This has made them an exceptional partner for our projects and we look forward to working with them in future projects. They happily integrate with architects and clients, with a thorough and forward-thinking approach. Their communication and responsive advice helps create a level of trust which is fundamental to any successful construction project. I highly recommend Geni Engineering for anyone seeking top-tier structural engineering in Kent, London and the South-East."
"Geni Engineering came recommended by our contracted builder for a self-build project. Not only reasonably priced, Geni Engineering could not have been better! Reliable and trustworthy, they always delivered without delay (never needed chasing!). Intuitive with engineering solutions to complex problems, Geni Engineering reduced our costs considerably. Thank you!"
