IStructE Structural Engineers with offices in London and Kent. We are experts in providing cost-efficient and architecturally led designs for large and small projects.

We offer a collaborative approach focusing on innovation, to help clients achieve their vision. We aim to repurpose buildings to minimise upfront embodied carbon and preserve historic buildings. We are specialists in resurrecting problematic schemes that have come to a standstill. We work closely with Architects, Developers and Contractors, to tailor ideas and guide our clients from planning to building completion. Our past projects span the Caribbean, London, Kent and Norfolk.

Expertise

01

Reuse and repurpose

We understand the implications of what we do and how it can impact the environment. We believe that refurbishment of existing buildings that have significant embodied carbon already in them is the future and take great pride in being experts within this field. Whether you are extending upwards, downwards or otherwise we can guide you to a lean approach.

02

Historic and listed

We love a historic building with all its unique features and want these to be preserved. We have the understanding and skills to work on buildings of all eras and our careful and compassionate approach is revered by our clients.

03

Bespoke Housing

From clifftop villas on the Kent coast to unique townhouses in Richmond. We have delivered many unique housing schemes across the UK. We find our highly collaborative approach well-liked by clients, explaining the process along the way whilst delivering an efficient and architecturally led design. We are advocates for Passivhaus design and have worked on many schemes with Passivhaus approved architects.

04

Hurricane and Seismic Design

We have a wealth of experience in international projects including the Caribbean, Canada, Montenegro and the US. With this experience we have a unique specialisation in hurricane and seismic design which is not common for UK based engineers.

05

Structural assessment and feasibility reports

We understand how and why structures are performing, and have been appointed on multiple projects to advise on resolving structural issues or feasibility options for proposed changes that a client may wish to make. There is no challenge too complex.

What our clients say

Rob Wyke – Astir Living

"I had the privilege of having George as lead engineer on a 180-unit mixed use scheme in West Hampstead, a project with many challenges  - including a network rail main line, adjacent Victorian mansions and myriad underground obstructions necessitating complex piling and cantilevered substructure solutions.

George’s ingenuity and tenacity were key factors in overcoming the issues with practical technical solutions. He always approaches issues with a can-do attitude and was proactive in pushing the design forward and a key asset in the success of the project. I have no hesitation in recommending George and Geni if asked for a structural engineer recommendation, to architects and developers alike."

Tom Mullally - Mullally Architecture and Design

"Geni Engineering offer excellence in structural design and appraisals, with a highly collaborative approach. This has made them an exceptional partner for our projects and we look forward to working with them in future projects. They happily integrate with architects and clients, with a thorough and forward-thinking approach. Their communication and responsive advice helps create a level of trust which is fundamental to any successful construction project. I highly recommend Geni Engineering for anyone seeking top-tier structural engineering in Kent, London and the South-East."

Toni Browning - Self Build

"Geni Engineering came recommended by our contracted builder for a self-build project. Not only reasonably priced, Geni Engineering could not have been better! Reliable and trustworthy, they always delivered without delay (never needed chasing!). Intuitive with engineering solutions to complex problems, Geni Engineering reduced our costs considerably. Thank you!"
